March Wellness Challenge - Physical Wellness
Physical wellness promotes proper care of our bodies for optimal health and functioning. There are many elements of physical wellness that all must be cared for together. Overall physical wellness encourages the balance of physical activity, nutrition and mental well-being to keep your body in top condition. Having optimal levels of physical activity and maintaining proper nutrition is key to improving your overall emotional wellness. Not only will you sharpen your thinking and learning abilities, you will also enhance your sense of self-esteem and self-control.

2. Nutrition: Proper nutrition promotes healthy pregnancy outcomes, supports normal growth, development and ageing, helps to maintain a healthy body weight, and reduces the risk of chronic disease leading to overall health and wellbeing. Here are some tips on how to better your nutrition:
3. Mental Health Check: It is always important to make time for our mental health. This month, focus on adding meditations to your daily, weekly, or monthly routine. Check out the benefits of meditations:
4. SLEEP- Yep, you heard that right, SLEEP! What does sleeping have to do with physical wellness? Great question! Getting enough sleep helps you boost your immune system, strengthen your heart, prevent weight gain, increase exercise performance, and improves memory. We need sleep to keep us going and give us the energy to stay active. In order to help you get to sleep, try turning off electronics 1 hour before bed!

- Eat a wide variety of foods every day
- Increase fruits and vegetable consumption
- Reduce fat, salt, and sugar intake
